I dropped my ipod 60GB Video today on some pavement. It had a silicone case on it, but it didn’t seem to do much good. When I first picked it up, it was working. But when I took it back out again an hour later, I had the dreaded Sad ipod image appear on the screen. I can hear loud audible Clicks coming from the inside of the case, which leads me to think that the only damaged component is the Hard Drive. (Since without the logic or motherboard It would not turn on.) I am pretty confident I can do the repair myself, as long as I buy the right thing.
I want to upgrade to a “(MK8009GAH)” (80GB) Hard drive, which is $100 on www.geeks.com, and I am also considering buying a new faceplate, so the front and screen will look like new again. That part is $17. It comes with Nylon safe ipod tools, but what else do I need to make this operation go smoothly?
Any tips for the whole operation would be great
I’ve opened up the case, and taken a look at whats inside. When I put it back together, it didn’t turn on. I plugged it in, and it now says “VERY LOW BATTERY PLEASE WAIT” for about 1 second, then the screen dies and it start to fade, then Powers on again. What should I do!?
It’s been doing this for about 3 minutes so far.
