Nikon D40?

I’m turning 13 and for my birthday i really want a camera. I am responsible. I have had a Kodak for a couple of years ago and i have my own laptop that i got last year for my birthday. Now, i want the Nikon D40. Should i get it and try it? It’s $500.00 and my mom is willing to pay for it and i have a twin sister and she wants the ipod touch. I also use my mom’s Casio and i take beautiful pictures especially of my dog and flowers. Any suggestions? Should a 13 year old have a DSLR and what kind of accessories would be helpful?
One thing, times are tough with money so the cheaper the better, i am into photography and looking into an entry level DSLR because of my budget. I am going to see how much money i will get for my birthday and then hopefully i will be able to afford the Nikon D40.
Thank you so much RJS1121! Over time i will be able to save up for more lenses but on my birthday for now i will probably just be able to afford the camera that comes with the lens. I can’t order off Amazon but the Nikon D40 is in stock at Best Buy in my area and Walmart too. Both stores are $500.00 for the D40. Thanks so much for all of your answers!

How do i charge my Ipod when im in an airplane???

Ok, almost 2 times a year I fly over 15 hours flights, and i watch movies on my ipod, thing is at 30.000 feet my baterie goes dead….Now it’s only been like 2 hours and now i have no music or movies, and i can’t sleep on airplanes….

So is there somthing i could buy, so i can charge my IPod?
I have a car charger for one of those cigarete lighter holes but that it, will that work?

What should I ask for for christmas this year? Teen Girl Help.?

Ok well I think I ALWAYS ask this question lol!! haha! well this year I’m 14 and I cant think of what to ask for!! My sister is getting a wii and accessories and games so that is a LOT of money!! But I still dont have any clue what I should ask for! I have a cell phone, an Ipod, TV, 3 designer bags, and plenty of clothes!! So hence my problem! Now reading that I have all this stuff PLEASE don’t consider me spoiled! I bought my ipod and I pay for my cell phone! I bought 1 of the purses and the rest were christmas presents! I’m definetely not spoiled!! So I would really like some ideas on what to ask for!!! I’m redoing my room in like Eiffel Towers and Lime Green black and white but I have a lot of stuff for it already I could still use some accessories though! So here is stuff I like!! I LOVE music and I like to knit and I horseback ride!! Even though I’m 14 I’m pretty mature for my age so I dont like young things very much!! I only have til November 1 to decide or I dont get to pick what I want!! So please answer these questions ASAP!! thanks sooo much!

Ok and I forgot 2 pretty big details!! I also have a laptop which I saved for and bought and I have a pretty good digital camera which I also bought with my own money but you guys are giving GREAT ideas!! thank sooo much! Oh and yeah I guess youd say I'm a girly girl but not ditzy stupid…… lol!
Ok well if anybody is going to say donate things well… Me and my friends are going to be sending packages out to shelters and things so no worries…

OK i live in l.a. and the two closest to were i live are in the del amo mall and Glendale galleria but there not on the website do they still repair and replace ipod in the one year warranty !!!

ipod audio jack repair?

The audio jack on my ipod is starting to wear out. It’s a 80 GB ipod classic and I bought it a year ago. I didn’t get a warranty with my ipod so I will have to pay $150.00 for the repairs. I would rather by a new ipod than spend that much money and lose all of the songs (over 9,000) that are on my ipod.

Has anyone had the jack on their ipod fixed? I found a website that advertises that they offer this service for a little over 40 bucks. If you’ve used this service did it work out?

What makes one side of your headphones stop working?

I’ve gone through 3 pairs already this year, all just from listening to my iPod. I don’t know if a dirty jack can mess up the headphones, or even if they’re just old, but now only one earpiece works on three pairs of my headphones.

Purchased ipod from walmart and a 2 yr service plan, will the service plan replace my lost ipod?

Just recently I lost my ipod. I purchased a 2 yr service plan last year when i bought my ipod. I know the plan covers repairs but does it replace the ipod if its been lost? If I filed a claim that it needed to be repaired would they make me send in my old ipod? Anybody else ever experienced this problem?

What can my children do on a 5 hour car trip??

I have a 13 year old daughter, a 9 year old son, and a 7 year old daughter. Don’t bother suggesting they all play together, because as hard as it is, the 9 and 7 year old team up on their older sister and have annoyed her and been so mean to her before that she has started crying. This isn’t really the section to describe what they do to her, but its mean. My son also have a bit of an anger issue. If he gets mad, he will freak and injure someone. Because of that, he always gets his way. I’ve tried everything and am at a loss for ideas. I’ve even tried to let them watch movies, but my son picked one movie, hogged the mini dvd player and wouldn’t let anyone else see it, only listen to it, plus it was a movie that everyone else hated. My daughter has tried reading and listening to her ipod, but her brother stole her book, hit her with it several times and ripped the pages. Then her sister grabbed the ipod and headphones and started licking it. We have tried many other things also.
Since we go on this trip about every couple months(to visit their grandparents), I really would like to know some ideas. What can my children do, seperately?

Plus I know my son is out of control but he visits his dad every second weekend who gives him alchohol and lets him do whatever he wants.

Ipod touch HELP PLEASE?

i have the older version of the ipod touch and i have the 3 year apple protection plan with it. they just came out with the newer version and im upset mine doesnt have no speaker. so i was thinking if i purpossly find a way to break my ipod will the protection plan give me one of the new ipods or just repair it?
